Working With Z3
Questions Before You Call.
Straight answers about what Z3 is, who we fit, what things cost, how the work happens, and where we say no. Written for Safety Managers, HR, Ops, Facilities, and Finance — not for search engines.
01 ─ About Z3
About the organization.
Z3 is a California workplace safety operator. We deliver Red Cross–certified training, AED compliance and management (AED Vantage), First Aid cabinet service, PPE, and ongoing Cal/OSHA Title 8 advisory — under one contract, one point of contact, one audit trail.
Z3 is an independently owned California company, headquartered at 5152 Bolsa Ave Suite 102, Huntington Beach, CA 92649. The work is performed by our own California-based specialists — not outsourced to a national call center or a subcontracted training mill.
Z3 supports 500+ California industrial operations. Multiple reviewers cite 5–7 year customer tenure. Our current Google rating is 5.0 across 95 verified reviews.
Yes. CPR/AED and First Aid instructors are American Red Cross–certified. AED programs operate under physician medical direction. Training is documented to California recordkeeping standards, not a generic sign-in sheet.
02 ─ Fit
Is Z3 the right fit?
Mid-size California operators — roughly 25 employees and up — in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, distribution, construction, property management, food production, healthcare support, and restaurant operations. Buyers are typically Safety Managers, HR Leaders, Facilities Managers, Operations Directors, or CFOs.
A few honest cases where we are not the right call: single-employee businesses that only need one online certificate; operations outside California (we work Cal/OSHA Title 8 every day — that expertise doesn't translate to other states); buyers looking for the cheapest catalog PPE order without service; and organizations that want a paper-compliance vendor rather than an operational partner. In those cases we'll tell you and, when possible, point you elsewhere.
No. Many of our clients have safety split across HR, ops, and facilities. We're built for that. If you do have a Safety Manager, we work as an extension of their team rather than a replacement.
If your operations are outside California, or if you only need one-off online CPR cards, a national online provider is faster and cheaper. If you need medical, legal, or engineering advice specific to an incident, use a licensed physician, attorney, or PE — not us.
03 ─ Services & deliverables
What you actually get.
Any combination of our five service lines: Safety Training, First Aid Service, Safety Products & PPE, AED Vantage (AED compliance and management), and Workplace Safety Support. You can start with one and add others, or bundle them under a single contract. Full detail: /services.
Separately. Most clients start with one pillar — usually AED Vantage or safety training — and expand as trust builds. Consolidating vendors is the goal, not a prerequisite.
Zoll, Philips, and Cardiac Science. Sales, service, and rentals, plus the two-tier AED Vantage compliance program (self-inspection via QR, or fully on-site by Z3 technicians). Detail: /aed-vantage.
Z3 does not provide licensed medical care, legal counsel, engineering sign-offs, industrial hygiene lab analysis, or Workers' Comp insurance itself. We coordinate with those professionals; we don't replace them. We also do not sell generic online-only certification.
Yes. Multi-site First Aid stocking, AED compliance across every location, and a coordinated training calendar are standard. One contract, one point of contact, one consolidated audit trail across sites.
04 ─ Pricing & payment
Pricing and payment, honestly.
By scope, not by the hour. Pricing depends on employee count, number of locations, which services you use (training, First Aid, AED, PPE, advisory), AED count and program tier, training cadence, and any Cal/OSHA gaps we surface in the walkthrough. After the walkthrough you get a written proposal with fixed line items — no meter running.
A 40-person warehouse with two AEDs and a 400-person food-production plant with twelve AEDs across three shifts don't share a price — publishing one would be misleading. We publish the model (above) and give a fixed quote after we've seen the site. If a price list would genuinely help you, tell us on the call and we'll share ranges for the parts we can.
Yes. The on-site walkthrough and the written proposal are free and no-obligation. It typically takes under an hour on-site.
Ongoing service lines (First Aid stocking, AED Vantage, PPE resupply) bill on a scheduled cadence. Training and one-time projects bill per engagement. AED rentals bill monthly. Terms are stated on your proposal. Payment terms and any cancellation notice are in the signed service agreement.
Scope changes you request — added locations, added AEDs, added shifts, new training courses, expedited timelines, or Cal/OSHA-driven changes discovered mid-engagement. Anything that moves the quote is put in writing and approved before we bill it.
05 ─ Process
How the work actually happens.
A Z3 specialist calls or emails back the same business day, scopes the situation in a short conversation, and schedules the on-site walkthrough. Walkthrough → written proposal → signed agreement → implementation. That's the whole path.
On-site review of your training records, AEDs, First Aid cabinets, PPE, Emergency Action Plan, and Cal/OSHA-relevant documentation. We surface three to five actionable gaps, in writing. Typically under an hour. No obligation to hire us afterward.
A point of contact, roughly 60 minutes on-site for the walkthrough, and whatever existing safety documentation is easy to gather (training records, AED logs, current PPE / first aid vendors, IIPP, any recent inspection results). If none of that exists, that's fine — it's the walkthrough's job to find out.
One named account lead at Z3 owns your program end to end — training, First Aid, AEDs, PPE, and reporting. When something changes on your floor, you call one person, not five vendors.
Ongoing partnership: monthly compliance reports (AEDs), scheduled service visits (First Aid), refresher tracking (training), regulatory updates when Cal/OSHA moves, and same-business-day support when something breaks.
06 ─ Timing & availability
Speed and scheduling.
Same business day for inquiries. Walkthroughs are typically scheduled within the week. Training and implementation timing depends on class size, shift structure, and AED availability — the proposal will have real dates, not "TBD."
Yes. Training runs on your shift schedule — day, swing, night, weekend, split. The floor is not asked to shut down for a class.
Honest list: waiting on a signed proposal, waiting on employee schedules, back-ordered AED models, and holiday weeks. When something can slip we tell you before it does, not after.
Often yes for triage — verifying AEDs, refreshing certifications, and pulling documentation. We will not pretend a full program is in place if it isn't, and we won't backdate records. Call us anyway; we'll be direct about what's feasible.
07 ─ Service area & on-site delivery
Where we work.
Central and Southern California. Primary hubs in Orange County and the Coachella Valley. Full coverage across Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, and San Diego.
No. Our expertise is Cal/OSHA Title 8 — the strictest workplace-safety regime in the country. That expertise doesn't transfer to other states, and pretending otherwise would hurt you at audit. If you operate outside California we'll say so and step aside.
Hands-on courses (CPR/AED, First Aid, Forklift) are delivered on-site — that's a Red Cross and Cal/OSHA requirement, and it's how real muscle memory forms. Awareness-level content (harassment prevention, awareness lunch-and-learns) can be delivered virtually when it's appropriate.
08 ─ Trust, risk & compliance
Credentials, guarantees, and limits.
Yes. Z3 carries commercial general liability insurance. Certificates of insurance are provided to clients on request as part of the service agreement.
A licensed physician provides medical direction for both AED Vantage programs. Local agency notification (EMS/fire) is included. Detail: /aed-vantage.
No — no honest safety vendor can. Cal/OSHA outcomes depend on facts on the ground on the day of inspection: whether operators follow the training, whether cabinets are stocked, whether AEDs are actually maintained, and whether documentation matches practice. What we guarantee is that our part — training, documentation, AED compliance, First Aid supply, and advisory — is done to Title 8 standards and is defensible at audit.
Included in AED Vantage: immediate device replacement, post-event support, incident documentation, and coordination with your response team. You are not left standing over a used AED wondering what to do next.
Training records, incident data, and site documentation are used only to deliver the services in your agreement. We don't sell client data. See the privacy policy for the specifics on data handling and retention.
Call 714.394.4070 or email sales@z3safety.com. A member of the Z3 leadership team responds the same business day. If the fix is on us — a missed visit, a stocking error, a documentation gap — we fix it at our cost.
09 ─ How we compare
Differences worth knowing.
National catalogs ship boxes. We show up on-site, run the training, inspect the AEDs, stock the cabinets, and own the documentation. When a Cal/OSHA question hits your desk, you're not filing a ticket with an 800 number — you're calling your account lead.
For a small office with two AEDs, one shift, and no Cal/OSHA history, a cheap online CPR card and a Costco First Aid box can be enough. When you have multiple shifts, mixed sites, real risk exposure, or an audit trail that has to hold up — that's where a coordinated program starts paying off.
Straight answers: your operations are outside California; you already have an in-house safety department that just needs supplies at catalog price; you want an online-only certification mill; or you specifically need a national multi-state vendor. We'll tell you when one of those applies.
Backdating training records. Skipping AED monthly checks. Selling PPE we wouldn't put on our own team. Signing off on documentation we didn't verify. Any of those saves a customer a nickel today and costs them their case at audit — we won't do them.
10 ─ Common objections
Objections we hear on real calls.
Common. Most clients came to us that way. The walkthrough usually shows where the vendor boundaries fall apart — AEDs no one signed for, training records in three systems, cabinets stocked but expired. Consolidating isn't about cutting cost first; it's about closing the seams.
Two usual reasons: the other quote is for supplies only (no service, no documentation, no on-site delivery), or the other quote is federal-OSHA-level while Cal/OSHA requires more. We'll show you line-by-line what we included and what a cheaper quote didn't. Sometimes the answer is that a cheaper quote is genuinely enough for your situation — we'll say so.
Yes, in principle. The real question is whether Cal/OSHA-grade training, monthly AED inspections, cabinet resupply, PPE sourcing, and audit documentation get done every month in practice, in addition to your existing job. When they do — you don't need us. When they slip — that's when the call happens.
Fine. Take the free walkthrough anyway. You'll get a written list of the three to five gaps we saw, at no cost, and you can hand it to whoever fixes it — us or someone else. If the timing improves later, call back.
We hear this often. Tell us what went wrong — coverage gaps, missed visits, unresponsive account rep, documentation nobody could find at audit. The walkthrough is the fastest way to see whether Z3 addresses those specific failures or not. If we can't, we'll say so.
11 ─ Getting started
Starting the relationship.
Call 714.394.4070, email sales@z3safety.com, or use the form at /contact. Same business day response. First conversation is short — where you are, what's exposed, whether a walkthrough makes sense.
None. You get a written list of gaps and a proposal. If you use them without hiring us, that's fine — we'd rather your team be safer either way.
A Z3 principal countersigns every service agreement. On your side it's typically Ops, HR, Facilities, or Finance — whoever has authority for safety spend at your organization.
Call 714.394.4070 or email sales@z3safety.com. Real people answer, same business day. If the answer belongs on this page, we'll add it.
